Avid Solutions helped a major producer of Green Hydrogen (H2) and Green H2 Technologies start-up and commission its first large-scale Green H2 plant. For the past two years, Avid has been involved in the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED), pilot plant implementation and optimization, and the commissioning of the new Green H2 plant. The new Green H2 plant consists of eight 5MW PEM Electrolyzers coupled to a 15TPD H2 Liquefaction unit including all Balance of Plant (BOP) systems. Avid Solutions provided all Operational Technology (OT) solutions consisting of Basic Process Control System (BPCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Fire and Gas Systems (FGS), Power System Interfaces, Industrial Data Centers, Networking, Plant Historian, and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) Dashboards. This included all design, develop, and deploy services to implement the systems.
Over the course of 2023 and into 2024, a large team of Avid Process Automation and Electrical Instrument and Controls onsite resources working around the clock helped bring the client vision to a reality. Many unique challenges were encountered and overcome during this first-of-a-kind project. The team worked hand and hand with the client’s Green H2 production experts, operations personnel, construction crews, OEM suppliers, and process licensor’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to get the plant up and running.
